Mediation is a dispute prevention and resolution process implemented by the parties with the help of a neutral third party, who facilitates the construction of an agreement based on creativity and the satisfaction of common or legitimate needs and interests, founded on the principles of reasoned negotiation and relationship.
The parties must agree on the choice of third-party mediator. PRDSA mediators adapt to the needs of the parties, the complexity of the issues and the skills of the negotiators to use the appropriate type of mediation to help the parties find the best solution to their differences. Mediators have no decision-making power over the content of the agreement. The parties retain full control over the process and its outcome.
